  1. Case won, but I have this uncomfortable feeling that the government will never see the money back.

And what about all the other contracts for ultimately useless product bought through the "VIP lane"? It amounts to billions, and puts PPE Medpro in the shade.

  2. The next stage of the covid PPE VIP lane scandal to be unearthed by @goodlawproject looks likely to be that 'a small group of senior civil servants created false evidence trails to try & cover up the fact that valuable PPE contracts were diverted to Tory VIPs'!

Yup, more evidence of the levels of Tory corruption.... and of course, as in so many previous political scandals, its the cover-up that may finally take down the participants

  3. The biggest VIP lane winner of the pandemic was a company called Innova. Good Law Project has seen a cache of documents from US courts about its 🤯 affairs.

  4. Broker bought £7.25m manor house weeks after landing VIP lane contracts

'...£7.25m Berkshire stately home was bought in July 2020 with profits from contracts landed through the #Tories#unlawful #VIPLane – contracts where more than 40% of the money was spent on #PPE that the #NHS felt unable to use.

  5. “The multimillionaire husband of the embattled Conservative peer Michelle Mone is linked to a series of tax avoidance companies that may have assisted their clients in submitting misleading claims to HMRC, documents suggest.”

    Colour me shocked. Not.

  6. #PostOffice scandal. Great to see the outrage over #Horizon and all the politicians getting on the bandwagon.
How about an #ITV drama on #VIPLane in #Covid procurement? Where is the wasted £37 billion?

  7. @ChrisMayLA6 @goodlawproject

Including "up to four times higher than average", and forgetting to mention that some of such companies sprouted out like mushrooms after the rain and were led by relatives and friends of the politicians referring them to the government ... Theft by another name, yet, indeed, they have "done nothing wrong": all legal. But legal isn't moral, or right, or impervious to further legal inquire and revision – time will tell.

  8. A PPE farrago, a car crash interview and a fight with the PM: Lady Mone has her foot on the gas, hasn’t she?

Marina Hyde's views on the antics of "......bouncy-blow-dried plague profiteer Michelle Mone and her husband/support garment Doug Barrowman."

  9. Marina Hyde offers a nice summary of #Tory greed, the #PPE scandal & the #viplane

'if you made £65m pure profit for helping during the most acute national crisis, then you didn’t help – you helped yourself'!

    Amen to that!

(oh yes, in case you hadn't guessed she's talking about #michellemone)

  10. @goodlawproject continue to dig up evidence on the scandal around #PPE and the #VIPlane.

You'll not be surprised to learn that firms referred through the scheme by ministers charged more than regular suppliers....

Money squandered, corrupt practice(s) & legitimate businesses bypassed. This really was (is) government for their chums.

    The #Tories are a disgrace!

  11. Oh, look who’s stuck her head above the parapet… or rather, her “representative” has. Where are you, Miche?

“Mone’s lawyer said at the time there were ‘a number of reasons why our client cannot comment on these issues’”, the main one being that the Guardian had her bang to rights, as is now clear from these admissions.

  12. The @goodlawproject has had a (partial) victory at the High Court, with a finding that the #PPE #VIPlane was allocating contracts on a 'flawed basis' rendering its operation illegal.

As the Court concludes the VIP team was better resourced than other areas of #health procurement, but the speed of its decisions rendered them problematic...

An in case you'd forgotten; the VIP Lane was the mechanism by which the #Tories funnelled #pandemic related contracts to their mates!

  13. #Sunak proves again how hand in glove he is with #Johnson by approving Johnson's 'dishonours' list. This Tory party is rotten to the core, from #VIPLane cronies 2 those lawbreakers who supported Partygate. 14. CW: UK Politics; PPE Medpro

“We do not comment on matters that are the subject of ongoing legal proceedings” says the Department of Health’s spokesperson, on the news that they’re suing PPE Medpro for breach of contract

How convenient - should keep things quiet until after a General Election

  15. t.co/8at1wxCzPn #ppemedpro “won contracts through the government's so-called #viplane in 2020 after being recommended by #Conservative peer Baroness #Mone.
The govt is attempting to get its #money #back on one of the deals, for the supply of medical gowns during the pandemic, in the High Court.
PPE Medpro said it would "rigorously" defend the claim.
The company accused the govt of a "cynical attempt" to recover money from suppliers who had acted in good faith+to contract specifications.”
