Backstreet Beat
#Bainbridge #BainbridgeIsland #WA
Selection size: small
Selection tier: A
Pricing: $$
Notes: wonderfully quaint little shop “near” the ferry terminal and across from Town & Country and Blackbird Bakery. Owner is just such a nice guy. Half the shop is dedicated to books and the other half strictly to vinyl. They have a great selection of new and used. Well worth a visit. Jazz selection is always a treat.

Spin Cycle Records
#CapitolHill 🏳️‍🌈 #Seattle #WA
Selection size: Small
Selection tier: A
Pricing: $$
Notes: right in the middle of Capitol Hill area in Seattle. Small shop with a very nice selection of A tier artists and pretty reasonable prices. New and used though it seemed like there was more new than used. Records are very well labeled with condition. They also carry local artists and a few “hard to finds”. Dug the vibe. Will revisit again.

Jive Time Records
#Seattle ( #Fremont ), #WA
https://jivetimerecords.com
Selection size: medium-small
Selection tier: B+
Pricing: $$
Notes: honestly very impressed by this store. Many A level artists and titles along with rare and unknown titles. Prices are (so far) the best I saw in Seattle area. Also, the #bookstore next door has two #cats and is also worth checking out because…cats.

Silver Platters
#Seattle #WA (SODO location)
https://www.silverplatters.com
Selection size: x-large
Selection tier: S
Pricing: $$$
Notes: you could spend days here and still not see everything. Quite a huge selection, especially #Jazz! They also have quite a number of box sets and rare items and they will charge you for them. One could almost develop decision paralysis and/or empty bank account here.

The Turntable
#Victoria #BC #VictoriaBC
https://www.turntablerecordsbc.ca
Selection size: medium-small
Selection tier: A
Pricing: $$$$ (CAD)
Notes: located in the tourist attraction of Fan Tan alley and as such their prices are a little higher than average but not outrageous. They have so many records and many great finds.

Supreme Echo
#Victoria #BC #VictoriaBC
https://supremeecho.com
Selection size: small
Selection tier: B (S)
Pricing: $$$ (CAD)
Notes: the tiniest record shop we’ve physically been in. They have a great number of records, but the store itself can barely hold like 3 people. I give them an honorary S selection tier for having super hard to find and local BC artists. If you’re in Victoria, it’s worth a look.

Rockin’ Ruby’s Records
#Poulsbo #WA
https://rockinrubys.com
Selection size: medium-small
Selection tier: B
Pricing: $$$
Notes: this is for the Poulsbo location. They do have a location in Bainbridge, but we’ve not been there yet and it will get its own review. Prices were on par with retail. Used had a decent selection of A level artists just not their A level titles. Some good deals can be found here.

Bigfoot's House of Vinyl
#Bremerton #WA
https://www.bigfootsvinyl.com
Selection size: medium
Selection tier: B
Pricing: $$
Notes: a bit hard to find in downtown Bremerton. There’s quite a lot of vinyl there and some A level artists but not a huge selection as such, hence the B. However, they have awesome prices and the owner is most certainly LGBTQ+ friendly. Some local titles and some good finds. Worth a visit and re-visit.

Quimper Sound
#PortTownsend #WA
https://www.quimpersound.com
Selection size: medium-small
Selection tier: S
Pricing: $$$
Notes: a rather eclectic collection in the best sense of the word. Not only do they have A level titles but they have rare and local selections as well. New and used varieties along with musical instruments. Prices are what I would consider reasonable.

Soooooo about three months ago my partner and I took the plunge into #vinyl as we were becoming so disillusioned with streaming and the internet being our only source of entertainment.
Over the course of these three months so far, we’ve been to a good number of vinyl shops, just the tip of the iceberg, but still a fair number.
In this I’ve decided to start a review thread of all the places we’ve been to.
