I'm not that into old vintage tech.. I mean, I can't understand people are into music cassettes again. They sound very bad, they degrade over time, use and temperature... Vinyls on the other hand are almost indestructible: you can soak them and it's just matter of dry them carefully and they will live forever. Bad thing: the vinyl buzz... Some romanticize it. I think it is annoying. And then there is CD: perfection. I know it has a limited useful life, although I got CDs from 1982-1985 totally operative until today.
I use Youtube Music: (YT without ads + music, I think a great combo). And I couldn't imagine myself going back to an mp3 player or some "portable digital music player" for listening on the bus, subway or walking outside (like before). In home, ocasionally I listen to a CD, or a Vinyl.. (I had to sell 90% of my CD collection due to money issues during pandemic), so...
I try to spend less everyday, and subscriptions don't help at all... but youtube, mastodon and YT music is all I consume from internet. And -the most important thing- I just hate advertising (I even worked in advertising and marketing for several years to make a living 🫠).
I removed all my music projects from centralized digital platforms.: they're just on youtube (on their own channels) and bandcamp. I don't know. I think we must distance ourselves from centralized social media, alienation, vice, stupidity, depression and screen addiction, but I can't see myself organizing an iPod as I did almost 20 years ago, listening to sh1tty cassettes or using a battery CD player on the go... well. I've already vented xD thanks for listening!

Freitag - Ach, schau! Schon wieder eine Arbeitswoche rum! Im Büro muss ich tatsächlich ein bisschen aufpassen, nicht zu viel zu arbeiten (das hätte ich noch vor einigen Monaten nie gedacht!), damit ich nicht zu früh mit meinem Auftrag fertig werde. Ich pumpe mir das Ding gerade mit allerlei Spielereien und nicht unbedingt notwendigen Funktionen auf, quasi als letztes Meisterstück. Aber ich weiß jetzt schon, dass letztlich nicht mehr als eine dämliche Powerpointpräsentation davon übrig bleiben wird. Wenigstens habe ich so bis zur Pension eine interessante Beschäftigungstherapie.
Der Nachmittag ist dafür deutlich zufriedenstellender! Ein Besuch im Buchladen unseres Vertrauens (die haben uns schon vermisst!), ein Bummel durch die Fußgängerzone (trocken!), ein bisschen Wellness und ein Blick in einen schnuckeligen Rumladen sind das Hors d'oeuvre für den abschließenden Überfall auf den Plattenladen. Geplant war der Kauf von zwei, vielleicht drei gebrauchten #vinyls, geworden sind es elf! Ein bisschen irre bin ich dann vielleicht doch. Entschuldigung!
#amEndedesTages erkunde ich das neue Buch, und dazu lege ich die eine oder andere Neuerwerbung auf den Plattenteller. Wir machen es uns gemütlich!
Morgen sind wir außer Haus und gehen mit Kind und Kegel mal wieder auf Erkundungstour. Die Kamera ist geladen und bereit, es wird hoffentlich ein kleines Abenteuer!
Letzte Amtshandlung: ein Tag wird #gestrichen - bleiben noch 71. -

Unfortunately some early releases have light to heavy print issues. Nowadays the records became quite costly so it's getting very expensive to try and error. Therefore I want to share some of my personal experiences with the Jackie Mittoo recording Macka Fat. Over the years I owned about 4-5 different copies to understand which has the best fidelity.
