A-ha ist so eine Band, die man immer mal wieder im Radio hört und auch nach Jahren noch an ihren Erfolgen erkennt. Ich meine, wer kennt denn nicht Take on me?
Auf der Suche nach einer passenden Schallplatte von a-ha bin ich auf Minor Earth – Major Sky gestoßen, und ich muss sagen, das war eine gute Wahl. Im Gegensatz zu Stücken wie das oben erwähnte, reichlich bekannte Take on me oder The Sun always shines on TV klingen die Werke auf Minor Earth – Major Sky für mich reifer und stimmiger.
Das ganze Album ist recht ruhig für ein solides Pop-Album und recht gleichmäßig. Es gibt kein Crescendo, keinen ausgesprochenen Kracher. Das ist für mich kein Nachteil, sondern eher die Aufforderung, der klaren Stimme von Sänger Morten Harket immer mal wieder zuzuhören.
Mein Lieblingsstück könnte durchaus Summer moved on sein, immerhin ist es ja auch die erfolgreichste Auskopplung aus dem Album. Ich lausche auch gern Thought That It Was You oder I wish I cared. Aber mein persönliches Highlight ist der Titelgeber des Albums: Minor Earth – Major Sky.
