My dad is clearing out old telephony gear and it would be nice if it found a loving home.
Specifically he has 2 telco bays of DS1 channel banks with the talksets (order wire) and the wiring documentation.
As I understand it this will give you 24 64kbit/s timesliced channels (DS0s) over a T-1 line.

The #Ensoniq #ESQ1 I have in the #studio right now (a loaner from my regular occasional production partner) was apparently once submerged due to flooding ( a fact my buddy didn't discover until after he bought it LMAO) and yet it still works flawlessly (after some pretty thorough cleaning -- but not so thorough there isn't still fine silt on some of the keys).
They really did use to build stuff different.
My favorite words to hear when I am buying some gear off a guy I met on Craigslist: "I have some other stuff, if you want to look at it?"
Just got a beat up but seemingly fully functional Kawai MM16 MIDI controller for $40 while I was picking up a beat up but functional Quadraverb for $60. More #90s gear!
Right now I have, in my possession, a #Roland #MKS50, a #Kawai #K4r and an #Ensoniq #ESQ1 (all synths, in case you don't know). I've got a #Tascam 414 (4-track cassette multitrack recorder), a #Yamaha #REX50 (effects unit, basically an SPX-90 with added distortion algorithms) and an #Alesis #Quadraverb (more effects). All I need is an SR-16 drum machine and I could make an album like it was 1990 again.
My main #synth for the last 30 years has been this Sequential Circuits Six-trak analogue from 1984.
I don't think they have ever really been loved by many - only one knob to twiddle for a start. It's got midi and 6 voices that can all have different sounds or be layered, and can store 100 programmes, so perfect for me.
I picked it cheap at a car boot sale in the early 90s.
@ambercadabra 1200? I didn't get my first 1200 baud modem (well, CCITT 212; I did have a 202 modem in 8th grade) until high school 🙂
I'm sure there's someone out there who's going to one-up me with a 110 baud modem with an acoustic coupler...
