  1. Under The Plane Trees

Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany Traveling along the Rhine, I see plane trees everywhere. I can’t remember where I first encountered them, perhaps Ireland or France? 3. @Radical_EgoCom Just stop debating with people in general. Especially on social media, which has never been a good place for discussions. People use social media to advertise their viewpoints and complaints, only expecting applause and understanding in return.

  4. Due to the diversity of viewpoints and how easily they spread, the following has happened.

Firstly, personal judgment has gained an enormously inflated significance. You present facts, but the person responds by saying they don't believe it and gives their own answer back. And vice versa. When someone presents facts, one must either scrutinize them carefully or give up and say "I don't believe it."

Secondly, a situation has been created where a concept can have a dozen definitions, often contradictory or completely different from each other.

As a result, conversations between people start with careful probing to see if you and the person you're talking to are speaking the same language.

It's like the story of the Tower of Babel.

  5. I produced a radio documentary about the #opioidcrisis through the eyes of people struggling with #addiction, those that have lost loved ones, the #harmreduction workers, including an #Indigenous outreach worker, a drug checker, and peer supporters.
This was produced for #CIVL in #Abbotsford, #BritishColumbia and the Community Radio Fund of Canada, for their Local Journalism Initiative-funded podcast #Viewpoints.
