Kdenlive keeps crashing

I’m trying out Linux video editing in Ubuntu. My first try has been Kdenlive. If I try to add a PNG file, it crashes out. No error message, just goodbye.

Kdenlive probably is the only editor (so far) that has no convenient way of doing Cross-Fade/Dissolve
You have to put the 2nd clip on top/bottom video track, and then just mess around with the Fade In/Fade Out on those 2 clips
It sounds and look simple, but it became inconvenient when you're dealing with clip that has lots of audio channel, or maybe even when you're dealing with lots and lots of clips

......man I miss using DaVinci Resolve. Problem with DaVinci Resolve is: I have to bother myself transcoding the clip to another format that DaVinci Resolve (Free) supports
