I’m trying out Linux video editing in Ubuntu. My first try has been Kdenlive. If I try to add a PNG file, it crashes out. No error message, just goodbye.

What the hell? I accidentally discovered an exploit in #Kdenlive where I finally can upscale image with nearest neighbour pixelation. One could say it's a pro-feature that is lacking in most #VideoEditors! And yet, they keep on using cubic interpolation without other choice.

Surprisingly, in Kdenlive, this only needs #SVG file with low dimensions, and then you drop it on timeline - and what do you know? It scales crisply!

So, does it mean that I need to put all pixel art through SVG to make better quality videos? This sounds rather silly, but I have to stick with this workaround for my entertainment videos.
