indoors, a dog relay hurdles race, in two lanes. the sport seems to be called flyball.
there are four dog-sized hurdles in each lane, placed 3 metres (10 feet) apart. at the end of the lane, a backboard holding four tennis-sized balls.
as each dog reaches the end of the lane at high speed, it must slow down, land on the spring loaded backboard to release a ball, catch the ball, turn, and go back to start line before the next dog runs.there are many different versions of this video on the internet, but the ending is much the same. in this version the first dog appears to be some sort of black, short-haired retriever, so not a short dog. the next dog is a collie, so also not short. the third is mostly golden-haired retriever and is quite big. the fourth appears to be a medium sized dog, some comments suggest it is a staffy, but its not at all tall.
each of the larger dogs’ run at a speed which gives them two steps between hurdles - front legs, back legs, front and back. i would describe the pace the large retriever uses as a lollop, to accommodate the distance between hurdles in the same front leg back leg front leg back leg sequence of steps.
the fourth dog provides an hilarious contrast - despite its lack of height, it jumps and puts front paws down immediately on other side of hurdle, then using hind legs instantly lifts and propels itself through the air. no third or fourth step required it sails until it clears the next hurdle before putting its front paws down again then immediately propels itself through the air over the next hurdle. the fourth dog is not a macropod so does not jump high, but it moves like a kangaroo between hurdles.

a wide, tiled path thru lightly wooded parkland. there are long steps, and every five or ten steps depending on how steep the slope of the descent there is a short landing,at the top of the path and beginning of video, there is a skateboard and welsh corgi steps on to it with a casual, “i am brilliant at this actually i love it but i don’t want you to think i am not cool” attitude, gives one tiny push with hind leg and off he goes.
bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump … the rear of skateboard and corgi’s bum bounce up and down as it goes. his feet bounce up into the air with each step bump, but he still lands back on the skateboard. bump, bounce, bump, bounce, bump, bounce, bump, bounce, roll for a second, take in scenery, bump, bounce, bump, bounce…
at the end of the steep descent there are no more steps, just paved path gently sloping downwards. corgi steers skateboard into fallen leaves on side of path and jumps off.
