Hello! I am Originalbarbas and I have recently joined this server. I am a physicist, currently researching #quantum technologies in #Vigo. I build things with lasers on them, basically. Sometimes I also build the lasers too. I have lived in many places, recently in #Scotland and #Catalunya.
I like #videgames (currently playing through Expedition 33), #tabletopgames, #ttrpgs, #manga, #anime, #books (I read everything that I get my hands into, but I specially like #scifi, #fantasy and #murdermysteries), #comics (european mostly, but also american and basically every genre I can find), #bouldering and recently #aikido and #iaido.

The only way the #XboxAlly it's going to have a space on the market is by selling at $499 and $799.
And even at that price will have a tough battle between the #NintendoSwitch2 and an entry level #RTX Laptop.
To me, the best deal is still the base #SteamDeck, even if it's showing its age for current high demanding games like #Cyberpunk2077, #Expedition33, #BaldursGate3, #EldenRing, #RedDeadRedemption2 and #TheWitcher3, to name a few.

A hard of hearing game protagonist that will have in-game changes when they have/do not have their hearing aids.
Not sure if this has been done before, though. Maybe it has. But it would be interesting . Not only could be a tool to showcase to non-hard of hearing folks how it's like, but could be an interesting take on gameplay.

So I’ve seen my boyfriend play a lot of #VideGames over the last year (living with someone who does is new to me) and I’m fascinated by the mechanics and the ways #storytelling is both similar and very different from comics and novels. But I’ve been intimidated by how how difficult it seems to enter those worlds, what with all those controls and my semi-dyslexic brain. But now I think I have an entry point… A power washing game! This former zoo keeper finds this very exciting.
