Small creeks are essential life feeders in forests. This small creek is a part of our local watershed. It is small, yet mighty with it's life-source; sustaining life for many cedar trees & the plants that grow on forest understory. Creeks need protection as much as big rivers do 💧🌲💧

Two different footpath trails - leading out from the native plant garden. The rock steps trail leads to the short boardwalk that connects to a dock, over the lake, that has seating. The gravel path leads you to the lake loop trail, across the wetlands/marshes (prime frogs/turtles spotting area), over a long boardwalk that connects one side of the lake to the other. *In really rainy times - the trails on other side of lake get flooded out.

Beside the nature house, there's a short trail that leads to the gazebo/outdoor classroom area. It's a nice spot to have a picnic in the shade, when there's not educational programs happening because it has seating & a table.
The #WheelchairPath / #AccessibleTrail is on the left. The native plant garden trail is on the right (not an accessible trail for wheelchair users). If you're in PNW & love sunflowers but have limited gardening space - I would recommend the native perennial #WoolySunflower aka #OregonSunshine. It's a miniature native sunflower - very easy to grow from seeds. They do well in pots or in the ground. Pollinators love their bright, cheery flowers 💛🐝💛🌼
