CW: Police violence at Save NDIS Rally
It looks like I left before Victoria Police arrested a disabled person, assaulted a 79yr old man (A guy I know called Bob) without any reason, and then punched and pepper sprayed the person that prevented the cops from punching Bob.
You can see the cop rush at Bob at 1:10 in the video from 5m away and push him on to the road.
That level of violence against a 79yr old could be life ending.

Last week Victoria Police revoked their 'designated area' declaration 4 months early ahead of a Federal Court challenge.
It's generally expected that the Police will reinstate the declaration after the challenge concludes.
The Federal Court challenge is in the middle of day 2 and is being live streamed (it's not recorded so you can't catch up) if you're interested in super boring lawyer speak.

We need to limit guns in response to the Bondi shooting, and apparently an important step in this is to have VicPol open carry semi-automatic rifles at the cricket.

In yet another example of the media going beyond even the misleading police framing of numbers, this #ABC piece about neo-nazi and convicted criminal Thomas Sewell crashing and ending the press conference of Victorian Premier #JacintaAllan includes reference to different claimed attendance figures, but in doing so, falsely reports that #VicPolice said 5k at the Melbourne M4A hate march. Vic police said 5k was the combined figure for both the xenophobic gathering led by Sewell *and* the diametrically opposed weekly anti-racist, anti-genocide pro-Palestine march.

"The witness, who Brunswick Voice has chosen not to name, claimed the man was restrained with a knee on his neck and sprayed twice by police before being put into an ambulance and taken to hospital in the evening of Friday, June 6.
He died in hospital four days later.

And again - when police perform high arrest "task forces" like this, it's based on intelligence they've been refusing to act on.
That means this is thousands of domestic violence reports they deliberately didn't act on so they could wait until it would get media coverage.
That's thousands of women and children that they kept in danger so they could get a headline.
How many of the women murdered by their partners and ex-partners over the last year had previously reported the danger they were in without it being acted on by the cops?
