So...I ordered some new five fingers from Vibram last week, and just before 7pm tonight, (despite Malta being ravaged by storms) UPS delivered my super quiet new V-Alphas.

Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with my V-Treks, but I love a sale, and 30% off another pair of five fingers direct from source is to good to pass up.

Took my 15 years old, recently unused hiking boots out of the closet for a test walk and the foam above the sole disintegrated after a few steps. Glad it did not happen on a trip.

Pretty sad as the’ve done maybe 20 hiking days in total and are otherwise in a good shape. I wonder if there is any hope (and economic reality) for a repair.

bei #vibram sind diese 'hemp' latschen jetzt aus dem sortiment geflogen oder was? die hatten es mir irgendwie angetan aber ich finde kein vernünftiges angebot in meiner größe und auf der vibram seite schon garnicht.

nachdem meine füße mit den meisten schuhen - inklusive barfußschuhen - nicht happy sind, hab ich jetzt (weil v-run etwas umständlich und nur mit socken möglich) erstmal die el-x beschafft. haut hin, mit socke würde garnicht passen lol fußklima könnte suboptimal werden hiermit

Having done some reading into some shoes today and having a look what's on offer at two retailers, I think I am going to try out the following low cut trail shoes:

- Merrell Moab3 GTX: I already have the same model, but a mid model, so I am well aware of the comfort of the shoe. It has a TC5+ Vibram sole, which strangely is not listed on Vibram's website.

- La Sportiva TX5 GTX: A low cut shoe with a leather upper and a Vibram Megagrip sole.

- La Sportiva Spire GTX: Really like the looks of this one and it comes with a Vibram XS Trek sole.

As far as the La Sportiva shoes are concerned, I need to ensure that they do fit my feet as most Italian brands don't.

I also opting only to fit models that have VIbram soles. I might be sacrificing some flexibility for durability.

My main application are mountain day hikes, not necessarily on paths, crossing rocky terrain. When solo, I tend to go fast downhill. Shoes need to cope.

Einer meiner ersten #Fivefinger darf wohl langsam gehen; naja >6 Jahre sind auch ein Wort.

Die allerersten gabs ~2015.

Aber der neue #Vibram #VRun macht echt einen guten Eindruck.

Und für mich sind Barfußschuhe nur echt mit 5 Zehen 🤓 , hab wirklich etliche hier --> Leguano, Merell, Vivobarefoot , aber die Vibram sind wirlich die langlebigsten.

Je donne une paire de #chaussures de #montagne pointure 44 (#randonnée, pas alpinisme), marque #tecnica, tout l'extérieur est en #cuir, garniture #goretex, elles ont une dizaine d'années mais peu servi, ressemelées récemment (semelles #vibram quasi-neuves). À retirer sur place (banlieue sud de Paris), sinon on peut s'arranger pour un envoi. Que ce soit pour utiliser, revendre, prêter, louer, ou pour une asso, peu m'importe tant que ça sert.
