I have the dubious honor of refactoring a vibe-coded application that integrates with a number of different third-party services.
It's a right mess. There's virtually no abstractions between the application's own domain and that of the third-party services. Everything's interwoven.
On one hand I hold the developer responsible for letting this happen.
On the other hand I can't help but feel that agentic coding has made this outcome a bit too convenient to just ignore.

I’m trying to read Yegge's latest essay, but I find it hard to comprehend.

I've spent a career tracking down subtle logic errors and bugs, and my experiments with #AI seem to uncover so many pernicious, yet shadowy, flaws that I'm not sure I can trust it without a deep understanding of the code.
