I finally caught up with my previous state in Final Fantasy VI after restarting with the ROSE mod. I'm now pretty far into Sabin's scenario and damn... that... goes places.
I'm sure at some point I heard or read about what happens to Doma and the backstory of Cyan, but... wow... that is brutal... 😢

I've thought the same. I'm in 4 hrs approx so far. 🤭

This game is 32 hrs and I am so slow playing it, that's the reason I started earlier.

I started on #FinalFantasyVI for #VGCJune2025.
Starting early is my only chance at actually finishing this game in time. 😅
I played for about an ingame hour and wasted a whole bunch of time running around Figaro, trying to trigger the flag that would advance the story. 😩
The actual opening is epic and exciting, but running around Figaro, especially the fact that you can leave alone with Terra to be slaughtered by scorpions in the desert... not so great. 😅
Let's see what happens next in South Figaro.

I've caught up with the DLCs for #TheRiseOfTheGoldenIdol now. Especially the second one has a puzzle where you have to incrementally decipher a plethora of cryptic symbols. Not gonna lie, I was pretty proud of myself when I figured it out.

Next, I'll start early on #FinalFantasyVI for #VGCJune2025. I'm planning to emulate the SNES version. Is that a good idea or is there a better "must play" version?

I'm going for the SNES release, because I can easily run that on my PS Vita -- meaning I can put the Vita to sleep whenever I want and I can play on the couch instead of using my laptop. 😁
