CW: Update on Marmalade / Sad News / Pet Loss 🌈
I am heartbroken to share that Marmalade has crossed the rainbow bridge.
Despite our best efforts, his suffering was too great. He passed peacefully two days ago with Murphy—per Marmalade, the objectively best person in the world—right by his side. I took a bit to post back because I wanted to focus on Murph's well-being, and happily, with the help of Howl and Rune (Marmalade's brothers), they're beginning to heal—albeit slowly.
We have updated the fundraiser. We are no longer raising money for surgery, but we are keeping the fund open to cover the emergency vet bills and his cremation costs.
Murphy saved me when I had nowhere to go. Please help me ensure they don't have to carry a financial debt while they carry this grief.

This is my cat's brother, a lovely 12-year-old chonk who is now very poorly. My neighbours are raising money for his treatment.
"Our beautiful cat Çiya has become very ill and we are all heartbroken. After initial scans, blood tests and X-rays at our local vets, he has been referred to The Queens Veterinary School Hospital with suspected lymphoma. Why can’t we catch a break?
Boudica is now showing signs of the Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) previously known as acute renal failure, that nearly killed her at Xmas.
I’m still paying off Mr Kitty’s and her vet bills of ~$3k. I can’t apply for any more.

Odin Osiris He Is Risen lives up to his name.
I had a couple scary days with Odin needing hospitalization and a whole host of treatments (ask me how to blow $7.5K in one week on vet bills).
I got a call from the hospital this morning telling me he ate half a can of food on his own, and he was able to stand up and demand head scratches.
I think we're out of the woods, and I get to bring home my special boy this afternoon!
The vets are calling him a "senior cat." I say that's nonsense. He's my baby.

My cat is really sick and we can't get her to the vet until Monday morning, two days from now. I have about $8 to my name so I can't take her to an urgent care (which costs hundreds of dollars) nor afford to get some supplies from the pet store to make sure she doesn't dehydrate.
