Heute vor 10 Jahren. Der Sariçiçek-Meteorit – Fall am 2. September 2015
Am Abend des 2. September 2015 wurde über der Provinz Bingöl ein heller #Feuerball beobachtet und auf mehreren Überwachungskameras aufgezeichnet. Kurz darauf gingen in dem Dorf #Sariçiçek zahlreiche kleine Meteoriten nieder. Der #Meteorit stammt vom #Asteroiden #Vesta. Ein Stück des Meteoriten ist im #Astronomiemuseum der #Sternwarte #Sonneberg zu sehen. -

Vesta, de op twee na grootste asteroïde in ons zonnestelsel, heeft nog geen volledige differentiatie ondergaan in een metalen kern, silicaatmantel en basaltische korst. Dit volgt uit een nieuwe analyse van gegevens van de Dawn ruimtesonde van de NASA.
