I mainly worked a little bit again on my #osdev project. The first thing I got finally done was looking at the #VESA initialization process and added it finding & setting a mode via real-mode functions / intererupts.

Which means it finally boots in graphics mode!

Although the screenshot contains text, this is still the bios using it's teletype function. The kernel itself still only prints things to the textmode memory area (and the serial port).

Still a good step forward!

Noch was von der CES: Ein Besuch der Vesa ist immer ganz interessant. Bald gibt es neue (zertifizierte) Kabel. DP54 heißen die, erlauben vier Links des Typs UHBR13.5 und trotzdem halbwegs vernünftige Kabellängen. Natürlich weiter sehr weit entfernt von dem, was man mit VGA machen konnte. Aber auch da kommt eine (zertifizierte) Lösung.
