Over the Hedge with Doug Fink (Walloping Websnappers, Novel Gaming, Falling with Style, Skreeonk)
Sometimes a game says it’s based on a comic. Sometimes a movie says it’s based on a comic. And sometimes a game says it’s based on that movie that says it’s based on a comic, and suddenly we’re three layers deep in adaptation lasagna.
This week, we’re cracking open Over the Hedge for the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox—a game that definitely follows the movie’s lead and only politely waves at the original comic strip from across the yard. Expect sneaking, snacking, and more suburban chaos than your average HOA meeting can handle.
Joining the show is Doug Fink (Walloping Web Snappers, Falling with Style, Novel Gaming, and Skreeonk) to help sort out what happens when animals, energy drinks, and licensed games collide in one very busy backyard.

Le Volcan d’or, de Jules Verne
Pendant longtemps, l’unique édition de ce roman méconnu était la version largement remaniée par Michel Verne, le fils de l’auteur, et publiée en 1906 après la mort de ce dernier. Il a fallu attendre 1989 pour qu’une première édition du texte original de Verne père voie le jour ! Les éditions Classiques Garnier en proposent aujourd’hui une nouvelle, éditée par le sociologue spécialiste des échanges France–Canada Gérard Fabre.
Le roman nous emmène en effet au Klondike, à la suite de deux cousins canadiens partis faire fortune lors de la ruée vers l’or à la fin du XIXe siècle. Après une première déconvenue, les protagonistes apprennent l’existence d’un volcan dont le cratère regorgerait d’or et qui serait situé au bord de l’Océan Arctique. Ils partent alors en quête de ce mythique Golden Mount…

Basically, Rimac got 180 million € for developing a Level 5 autonomous taxi and now they're explaining they actually didn't mean exactly Level 5. Oof.
Hats off to Ilko Ćimić, the journalist there, for doing a great job.

Ouch. Rimac and Verne (a robo-taxi spin-off) officials (Mate Rimac himself and Marko Pejković) are currently being grilled hard by a croatian investigative journalist live.
I'm not sure what these guys were expecting from a journalist, but it looks like they weren't prepared for this. 😂The live video is in Croatian, but there's a transcript that can be machine-transalated.

The demo unit was supposed to be radio-controlled, but even that failed, despite the company saying they're developing the self-driving car for more than a few years, the whole show of calling the robotaxi from the app was just that - a show.

If you remember the last week Rimac, EV hypercar company, announced their new robotaxies called Verne. Unfortunately, the stage demo failed because the robotaxi failed to start. But hey, it's in the early stages of the development, no more than 180 million € of EU money has been given to the company, so it'll improve!
But that's not the reason I'm disappointed! I'm disappointed because it turned out those 180M bought only a week of self-driving fable!
