Extremely saddened to hear that Latvian writer Nora Ikstena has died ... I was lucky to meet her during my residency at the Writers and Translators House in Ventspils, which she co-founded (a wonderful opportunity for countless people from around the world). I can't claim to have known her well, but she seemed like a beautiful, perceptive soul, and of course, a powerful writer 🕊️
