You're too close. 🤨 Move back. Way over there. This is closer scrutiny on the teeth than I feel comfortable with. The teeth of this old ventriloquist figure won't be seen so clearly. You'll only get flashes of the top teeth, and the bottom teeth (not in their correct place here) will mainly just show their top half. Move back about 12 feet and they look great. 😅 #Ventriloquist

This is where I'm up to on restoring the ventriloquist figure's body. All previous "restoration" work was falling apart. I've used various sorts of paper, and two glues. Most of it was hide glue (great stuff), but I also used a good wood glue . I incorporated all original material, and create a strong neck hole, recreating the chest and the rear bridge across the back of the shoulders. This figure is a hand shaker, so needs to be strong. #Ventriloquist

Close-up of the eye. Although many papier maché ventriloquist heads look a little crude (and some are), many are also very precise, with 1mm tolerances. Here the papier maché thins right down around the eyes to.. paper thickness. The crumbling gesso has pulled some of the paper away, but this can be restored using part-torn/part-cut thin paper, with gesso built over the top. #ventriloquist
