• A rewatch of my favorite movie #BelleDeJour
• A dark satire on people’s need for recognition #SickOfMyself
• A documentary showing how traditional music genres and forms of entertainment traveled from Anatolia to Germany with the workers migration of 60s #LoveDeutschmarksAndDeath
• A queer masterpiece, vaguely about Bowie, which Bowie himself vetoed the use of his music and then after watching manifested his distaste #VelvetGoldmine -
my closing statement is David Bowie’s, and he’s right #velvetgoldmine
"When I saw the film I thought the best thing about it was the gay scenes. They were the only successful part of the film, frankly.”

why did @brianeno and @frippofficial OK this cover of Baby's on Fire? #velvetgoldmine

Blaring the #velvetgoldmine soundtrack and #writing in the night air. Doing the same thing I was doing 20 years ago. The scenery may have changed and me along with it…but the story has stayed the same. Absolutely content.

It's a year since my co-edited volume on #ToddHaynes came out from #DukeUnivPress, and it's time for their 50% off sale! So here is my shameless pitch for those of you who haven't got a copy yet. You get half off all your Duke books if you use coupon code SPRING23 through April 17.
You can order from the US site (https://www.dukeupress.edu/reframing-todd-haynes); if you're outside the US, from #CombinedAcademicPublishers (https://www.combinedacademic.co.uk/9781478018001/reframing-todd-haynes/).
This book was a labor of love for the editors and contributors, so I hope it can reach its readers. Thanks all for buying, liking, supporting, reviewing, and boosting. :heart_cyber:

Nobody asked for Rex Smith doing a performance of #DavidBowie's "Boys Keep Swinging" from 1985 -- and introduced by Bob Keeshan aka #CaptainKangaroo even -- but here we are. I think it's great that this lost cut from the end of #VelvetGoldmine has surfaced. #music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzm2uHZAirA
