Heute zum Ende der #Veloferien nochmal #rausgeschafft, allerdings mit Mr. #Winterbrompton (mit Sommerpneu, Conti Urban Contact), da gestern kurz vor Ende der #Radtour am #Brompton H6RD der Seilzug zum Positionieren der #Velospeeder Reibradmotoren gerissen ist und das G-Line immer noch wegen kaputten Freilauf beim Mech. Auch Mr. Winterbrompton ist nicht ganz ok, denn es fehlt 1 von 5 Schrauben zw. #Schlumpf #MountainDrive #Tretlagergetriebe und dem Kettenblatt. Aber für 17.75km und 72hm ging das.

Heute gab's trotz dem am Mittwoch kaputt gegangenen G-Line mehrere freudige Dinge in Sachen #Fahrrad: Hab's nach mehreren Monaten Abstinenz wegen Terminkonflikten endlich mal wieder zur #CriticalMass #Zürich geschafft (mit dem 16" #Velospeeder #Brompton H6RD) und natürlich auch gleich wieder fleissig gecorkt. Und mit den damit geradelten 34.2km habe ich auch "Projekt #Frostpendeln 1000" geschafft: Mein Frostpendeln-Kilometerstand ist jetzt bei 1015km. 🎉

Grade beim #Frostpendeln-Kilometer-Eintragen bemerkt, daß ich gestern mit dem #mdRnH die 600km seit 1. Nov. überschritten habe. 🎉

Es hatte gestern bis zu +7⁰C und ich bin deshalb nicht mit dem #BromptonElectricGLine mit #Spikereifen sondern mit dem #Velospeeder 16" #Brompton geradelt — das #GLine hat jedenfalls das H6RD nicht komplett verdrängt. Nur für Mr. #Winterbrompton muß ich mir vielleicht mal was Neues ausdenken, denn den ganzen Winter mit Spikes E-Bike fahren funktioniert super.

Heute doch noch kurz vor Ladenschluss zum Einkaufen #rausgeschafft. Weil das Electric G-Line im Laden eher mühsam ist und es auch mit 4℃ auch keine Glatteisgefahr gab, bin ich mit dem 16" #Velospeeder #Brompton H6RD gefahren und hab dabei meinen neuen Alu #Frontkorb von #FahrerBerlin mitsamt passender Einkaufstasche ausprobiert. Das Brompton erinnerte mich damit etwas mehr an die Mietvelos von PubliBike als mir lieb war, aber ich werde den Korb sicher wieder mal benutzen.

Unter anderem weil am Freitag laut MeteoSchweiz der erste Schnee in Zürich fallen soll, habe ich mein #BromptonElectricGLine heute Abend (naja, eher Spätnachmittag, war aber schon nach Sonnenuntergang) zum #Velofix gebracht zum #Spikereifen draufmachen lassen. Wie mittlerweile üblich natürlich mit dem Veloanhänger. Hinzus das #GLine als Zugfahrzeug und das 16" #Velospeeder #Brompton H6RD im #CroozerCargo. Rückzus dann letzteres als Zugfahrzeug.

@Radlerin: Danke fürs bisher noch fehlende Quäntchen Motivation. 😊 Hab's deswegen trotz recht grauem aber trockenen Wetter doch noch ~1h vor Sonnenuntergang #rausgeschafft. Da gestern das 16" #Brompton H6RD mit überholtem #Velospeeder #Reibradantrieb von #JulianeNeuß zurück kam, lag eine Probefahrt nah. Allerdings hatte sich wohl beim Versand der Gepäckträger verzogen und ich mußte nochmal nachjustieren. Bin zur Emil-Klöti-Str. hoch, dann oben entlang bis zum #Grünwald u. retour.

So, ich mach mich langsam mal parat für dem #Brompton-Apéro beim #Velofix. Habe dort gestern mein #GLine abgegeben für ein paar kleine Reparaturen — primär ein anscheinend nicht richtig funktionierender Kettenspanner, ein hoffentlich verfügbares Update für die Akku-Firmware und ein Check ob beim Sturz neulich wirklich nix kaputt gegangen ist. Dafür habe ich dann mein H6RD mit #Velospeeder-Reibrad-Antrieb mit zwei neuen Felgen wieder abgeholt. Jetzt drehen auch die Reibräder nicht mehr durch. 🎉

Es war mal wieder Zeit fürs "unter den Fingernägeln reinigen" vom #Velogical #Velospeeder #Reibradantrieb. Das rechte Reibrad hatte bei bestimmten Geschwindigkeiten doch wieder recht kräftig gerattert. Keine Ahnung, wie's der Dreck immer wieder schafft, unter den Gummibelag des Reibrades zu kriechen.

War trotzdem spassig. Habe viele für mich neue Ecken von #Waldshut kennengelernt. War ein bisschen länger unterwegs (ca. 45-50 Minuten) als wir üblich unterwegs sind (ca. 20-35 Minuten), aber mit den ganzen sonst nicht notwendigen Kartenguckpausen waren's dann laut Navi doch nur 36 Minuten reine Fahrtzeit. Mit insgesamt 10,5km Strecke aber mehr als doppelt so weit wie die durchschnittliche #CriticalMassWaldshut, #VeloSpeeder E-Assist am #Brompton sei dank.

Bin bisher recht zufrieden. Mäkelpunkte bisher:

* Tretsensorkabel viel zu dünn, schon mehrfach gebrochen.
* 1× Andruckfeder gebrochen.
* Rutscht durch bei arg nasser Felge (starker Regen, Schnee, durch Pfütze gefahren) und voller Leistung. (→ mit optionalem Poti weniger Leistung oder Trockenbremsen)

Had issues with the #Velospeeder e-assist (actually already on Sunday) and later found out that on one side the pressure spring of the friction wheel is missing. Back home I found a part of it, i.e. it seems as if the spring broke and then fell out. Still works once it's running, but it needs a small pothole or bump to get there... *sigh*

Wohne zwar schon über 15 Jahre in #Zürich, war aber bisher noch nie mit dem #Velo auf Zürichs Hausberg, dem #Uetliberg. Wollte das eigentlich heute am frühen Nachmittag angehen, weil ich vorher dort in der Nähe zu tun hatte, aber der Tretsensor vom #Velospeeder hatte gestern mal wieder #Kabelbruch. Habe das dann heute Nachmittag in zwei Anläufen geflickt und bin erst am späten Nachmittag mit dem #Brompton losgekommen. Hatte dafür schöne Aussicht auf #ZürichByNight und 'n #Flammkuchen zum z'Abig.

Had issues with the #Velospeeder friction wheel e-assist on the #Brompton:

It suddenly started rattling horribly on one side of the rim. When investigating on the road I didn't see anything wrong. A #VeloPlus repair shop was on my way and they had a look. They figured that the friction wheel is running untrue. But they didn't want to touch the unknown #ebike kit.

So in the evening I took it apart myself after consulting #JulianeNeuß on the phone.

Tja, hätte ich am Morgen zum #Frostpendeln nur Mr. #Winterbrompton genommen. Aber der Wetterbericht wusste da noch nix davon, dass diese Woche noch #Schnee kommen soll. Und dann auch noch so bald. 🤪 #mdRnH #mdRddN #mdRddS

Allerdings kann ich jetzt mit Gewissheit sagen, dass der #Velospeeder E-Bike-Umbausatz bei Neuschnee noch schlechter funktioniert als bei Regen: Er dreht andauernd durch und die Felgen "trockenbremsen" klappt auch nimmer. Ist aber auch kein Wunder, mit so viel Schnee dran.

@cyclingeu: The #Boost e-bike conversion weighs 2.5kg and claims to be the lightest e-bike conversion kit for the #Brompton? Ehm, that's about the weight of the #Velogical #Velospeeder with the _big_ engines (with whopping 60nm torque) and the _big_ battery. With the small engines with the same 40nm and even just the medium battery (about same range), Velospeeder is at 1.6kg and hence weighs 1kg less. And with the small battery you're even down to 1.3kg—albeit also with just a 20-25km range.

Did a #BicycleTour on the #Brompton from #Locarno up the #Centovalli to the Swiss-Italian border. 44.5km overall distance and about 500m difference in altitude. (Actually the #Garmin GPS said 448m up and 517m down despite start and end were at the same spot. 🙄)

For some reason after the rainy bicycle tour up half the Maggia valley the day before, my #Velogical #Velospeeder e-assist no more wanted to work (maybe contact issues, need to check) so I'm sure this was all "acoustic" muscle power. 😇

@ascentale @ingalls #BikeNite A5: With regards to the electronics: Yes. They're well contained (no display or buttons) and the cable leaves the battery on the bottom side and is additionally surrounded by a bag with zipper.

But the #Velogical #Velospeeder I have on my Brompton has one disadvantage when its rainy outside: It's a friction wheel e-assist pressing tiny rubber wheels on both sides of the rim (similar to rim brakes). So on wet days at steep inclines it occasionally starts spinning.

@mienkaefer: Alternativ eine Schlumpf #MountainDrive Tretlagerschaltung einbauen (lassen). Macht Juliane auch. Die Spreizung zusammen mit der BWR 6-Gang ist dann mit IIRC 758% im Bereich einer Rohloff. Ist bei mir jedenfalls der Plan zum mein Alltags-#Brompton noch bergtauglicher zu machen als es mit 6-Gang BWR und 44er-Ritzel vorne (und neuerdings #Velospeeder E-Assist) eh schon ist.

First day #commuting with my recently electrified #Brompton. The #Velospeeder worked fine, but the first steep hill (where I was pushing the bike beforehand) was still a challenge, despite now a doable one. (So the #MountainDrive plan is still on. 🙂)

Downwards a hill shortly before the office I heard a rattling from the back despite the e-assist was off. The two screws holding the left engine on its swinging axle had loosened probably due to my reflective spoke clips. Was quickly fixed, though.

On my way back from #CCCamp23 I stopped at #Erpel (known for the #LudendorffBridge aka "Bridge at #Remagen", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludendorff_Bridge) for dinner (remainders from lunch on Friday at a Greek restaurant in Zehdenick). I used the occasion to try out the newly added #Velogical #Velospeeder e-assist on my #Brompton (https://www.velogical-engineering.com/fahrraeder/brompton-tuning/) and cycled up the 136m elevation to the #ErpelerLey. Caused a convenient heart rate. Not too much, but clearly not nothing. And a nice breeze downwards. 😎 #sunset

@gnomon: I did request installing a #Velogical #Velospeeder e-assist kit, #Velospring grips and a Schlumpf #MountainDrive. She offered me a used MountainDrive but we had to cancel the latter due to some suspected defect on the used part and the manufacturer being unreachable for repair assistance due to currently moving. It's postponed at least until they finished moving. Luckily I don't live far from them -- but I had no luck in contacting them either. Contacted Juliane only afterwards.
