If they pan out as true and assuming we can't massively remodel our relationship with surface transport in <20 years, results of this paper suggest there's even more ethical weight attached to modernizing automobile fleets than may be obvious at first glimpse.
Our relationship with and expectations of surface transport have been substantially distorted by our ephemeral fossil fuel bubble. The picture becomes worse the closer we look.
