Originally the V in #VAB stood for “Vertical” because that was where the Saturn V was stacked vertically before rolling out to LC-39, but this didn’t apply as well to the #SpaceShuttle, which was side-mounted, so the V was reassigned.
Now the VAB will be used for the stacking of SLS #rockets.
