As we remember #veday80 and think about the 12,000 tonnes of bombs that fell on the UK in the 6 years of WW2

Perhaps we can spare two minutes of silence for those who have had 70,000 tonnes of bombs fallen on them, the suffering people of #gaza

If Gaza's footprint were laid across London east to west, it would stretch from Heathrow Airport to Dagenham

They will have no victory day

During World War Two public weather forecasts by the Met Office became top secret information and had to stop. It was not until VE Day 8 May 1945 that the forecast was broadcast on the BBC again.

Today, at 23:01 CET, we mark 80 years since the end of the war against Nazi Germany. Let us not forget the horrors that fascism brought to the world and remind every generation how it came to power. We see a resurgence of those ideologies around the world, thanks to the cult of ignorance.
