Fixed them myself in the end. Couldn't be bothered going back into town, and figured I couldn't make them worse, so got out the tiny screwdrivers and sorted it. Now they're just perfect... All I need to do now is get used to #varifocals. #GettingOld

Now, to make #soup from scratch because someone mentioned making soup the other day and I've wanted homemade soup since then. Carrot, sweet potato, and parsnip soup with cumin and coriander.

Top tip if your varifocals seem wrong: ask the optician to check your frames. There's some arm bendy wizardry they do, I don't understand it, but I'm pleased it works! #Varifocals #ICanSeeClearlyNow #OldEyes

Yes, I am that age now... anyway, I'm struggling to adapt to wearing #varifocals for computer work, because of the fuzziness around the edges. Just picked up my new glasses. Everybody looks a little bit clearer but also a little bit wonky. #varifocals

I replaced my #varifocals by standard distance lenses - but in a 'trick' frame; it can swivel up a bit giving more of a gap at the bottom that you can look under The frame is called 'snooker' for players looking along the cue I guess.

I took my #varifocals back yesterday; I got used to wearing them out and about, even if the swimming on them was annoying; and I could read my mobile with them, but I found they were pretty much impossible to use for computer use at home - especially with a nice big display.
