  3. The safety and efficacy of #vaccines is constantly monitored. For example, this is a study that measles/mumps/rubella (#MMR) and #varicella zoster (#chickenpox/#shingles) vaccinations are safe in #MultipleSclerosis patients. #vaccine #vaccination

#MAHA #MAGA IS A DEATH CULT, evidence kabillion squared.

get your #shingles #vaccines. there is strong evidence of the connection between the virus (#chickenpox turned #herpes zoster) and #Alzheimer's induced #dementia.

“By reducing the chance that the #varicella-zoster virus - which causes chickenpox - can reactivate into shingles, the vaccine may combat virus-generated inflammation and sticky protein formation that's implicated in Alzheimer's disease”

  5. "Chickenpox vaccines for young children start across UK"

Excellent news. They should have started 25 years ago, of course, but better late than never.

Most children make an uneventful recovery from chickenpox, but some don't, and if you're really unlucky it can be fatal. This will surely save lives.

And even if you avoid serious complications, chickenpox is never fun. The vaccines will avoid a lot of unnecessary suffering and time off work.

  6. Dr. #SusanMonarez raised concerns about a #vaccine panel that will meet on
Thurs, after #Health Secy #RFKJr fired all 17 members in June, eventually appointing others to take their place. “There is real risk that recommendations could be made restricting access to
#vaccines for #children & others in need without rigorous scientific review,” she said. The panel will discuss #Covid vaccines, the #hepatitisB vaccine & the #measles, #mumps, #rubella [#MMR] & #varicella vaccines.

  7. This is excellent news.

OK, we should have been vaccinating kids against chickenpox for at least the last 25 years, but better late than never.

This will prevent a great deal of misery, and even save a few lives. Most kids recover uneventfully from chickenpox (though it's still not fun), but some have serious complications, and in rare cases, they can be fatal. We typically see about 20 deaths per year in the UK.

  8. Increase in #Adult #Patients with #Varicella Zoster Virus–Related Central Nervous System #Infections#Japan

Source: Emerging Infectious Diseases Journal, f AbstractAn increase in the number of herpes zoster patients has been reported since universal varicella immunization was introduced, perhaps because of reduced opportunities for varicella patients to experience the natural booster effect caused by reexposure. We investigated recent trends of varicella zoster virus…

  9. #Mpox #Epidemiology & #Risk #Factors, #Nigeria, 2022, Emerg Infect Dis.: wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/30/9

Odds of being mpox+ were higher for adults with #HIV & lower for those co-infected with #varicella zoster virus (VZV). No #children were HIV+; odds of being mpox+ were higher for children with VZV infection. Our findings indicate mpox affects primarily adults in Nigeria, partially driven by sexual activity; childhood cases were driven by close #contact, #animal exposure, and #VZV co-infection.

I've heard about this study, it buzzed a lot! Frankly given my personal story of #MS, started when I was a child, after #varicella, I think there must be a missing link. I haven't found a better hypothesis explaining why MS is #progressive despite the best DMTs, other than the #HERV-w activation. Also I'm not sure that with a vaccine anti-ebv there would not be no more new cases of #MultipleSclerosis. We'll see.

    Thank you.

"#HERV-W ENV is well documented both in #MS, triggered by #EBV and other #herpes family viruses, and in #COVID-19, triggered by #SARS-CoV-2. Very different patterns of of expression, but may indeed elucidate some of the similar features."

My #MS was triggered by #varicella, an herpes family virus at the age 8
