If the #SteamFrame turns out to be of a build quality similar to that of the #ValveIndex, they can keep that shit.
I'm so tired of buying replacement parts just to have them fail just a few months later.
Tether cables, thumb sticks, head straps, face gasket, cable management.
It seems like no part of the #Valve #VR ecosystem went through a reasonable amount of stress testing.
I'm using #VRChat to relax from the never-ending torture of working in the IT industry, and it's the same awful IT industry that ruins the experience for me.
And if it's not Valve's shitty hardware that fails me, it's #NVIDIA and their shitty, unstable, AI-coded drivers.
Everything IT sucks these days.
I lived through the DOS and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 era, and I'd rather go back to manually configuring IRQ settings for soundcards than suffering through any more broken software updates.
Bring passionate humans back into IT you damn money maniacs.

Things I didn’t like about the Valve Index:
1. the cables and the corresponding setup when I want to play since I can’t just leave it setup when I’m not playing
2. the sound the lighthouse sensors make when they are running. I can hear them even when playing and I think the sound is giving me a headache -
Decided to sell my Valve Index Kit before the Steam Frame gets released since I’m not using it as much as I thought I would have. I bought it in March 2021 and have only 165h in Steam VR. Maybe I will get the Steam Frame, maybe not we will see. It depends on the price and how good the compatibility with Linux is.

Hat jemand in #Bielefeld oder Umgebung (#OWL) eine #ValveIndex und würde mich mal das Trident-Kabel testen lassen? Ich habe hier noch ein geliehenes Index-Headset und mutmaßlich ist das (extrem teure) Kabel defekt... das würde ich aber gern durch einen Test bestätigen.
