This is a source of comparative advantage. Natural gas is costly to #trade long distance (literally physics implied trade costs). Trade theory predicts that in this case, exports of natural gas embodied in products expand. This is important in current context as intermediate goods imports can help war-interrupted #valuechains. Market economies can adapt if there are less (stupid) frictions. Which friction is stupid is a question requiring broad societal debate.
