Played around a bit with https://vahrplan.de/de/transitous, which gained @transitous support in June, apparently. Quite an interesting idea, feels light and snappy, comes up a bit short in several aspects but the really distinguishing bit is the chart view you can see in the screenshot here: you can visually compare all the options, see how they split, converge and pass each other in time and distance of transfer point to destination. I like it, though whether you will will likely depend on how nice you find this particular feature… Since here's the list of limitations:
- Connections in the list view are sorted by departure time, NOT arrival time. If you pick the first one, you may find yourself taking a slower route
- There's no way to search for stops or addresses in a particular city, which is sorta a problem when you now support large swathes of the world in one dataset 😅
- You can't select places from a map, either
- Only German language versionI think it's a good planner for the right person, and it does take into account real-time updates where Transitous has them - try it and see if it fits your use cases!
