  5. Design professionals aren’t doing well. The latest survey of tech workers by Noam Segal and Lenny Rachitsky states:

    > Designers and researchers are the most worried. They report the most AI anxiety, the most fear of job loss, the worst-rated managers, and the lowest willingness to recommend their field. It’s a continuation of a trend we flagged last year.

I don’t know the exact reasons why so many people gave that answer, but it feels directionally correct, and my personal experiences and opinions align with it. The short version is that I don’t have an aversion to generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) models being used as a tool where appropriate. What makes my work life miserable is how some people use the models to amplify problems that those people were causing even before GenAI existed.

  9. So what's the story with #penpot ?
It seems too good to simply be open source (I love it). But I noticed they have a share to X button in their community (user) forum, which got me riled up and anxious. Is it owned by evil-doers? Crypt0 folks? By Musks 30 wifes?

  11. Good UX/UI isn't decoration, it's how products earn trust.

At Squads, we design experiences that are:
    🎨 User-centered
    📱 Consistent across devices
    🧪 Continuously tested
    🔄 Improved every sprint

Because people remember how a product feels to use, not just what it can do.

Crafting usable, delightful experiences every sprint. ✨

  12. ok who designed this form?

    The field is `Unplanned Request` The only options are `X` and `x`.. which is... supposed to be `yes` and `smaller yes`? `less yes`? Or is `regular yes` and `EMPHATIC YES`

Tho x usually means NO. No and super no?

This.. kids.. is why UX is important.

  16. Designers talk a big game about "empathy" for users. But empathy without respect is nothing more than pity.

And nowhere is the lack of respect more apparent than in how LLMs have been productized and adopted. The "human in the loop" excuse pushes consequences down onto scrupulous employees and ultimately onto the very users on whom we claim to be centered.

The consequences of disrespectful software are now becoming apparent across tech.
