Populated the Spectrum Palace's map using momatoes' Oracle deck 💫 . The cards are gorgeous, and made for some memorable encounters, including a fake witch and geometry-loving glass golem :blobcatmaths:.

The PCs managed to infiltrate the palace but ran away when their presence was noticed. New plan is to recruit heretics to topple the satraps' agonizing light cult and take advantage of the confusion to extract the Ultra barmaid and the hypersleeping megasloth from the palace. 🌈

#UVG session 87 🌈

At long last, we leave Three Sticks Lake after setting up a peace summit involving the three main villages. No one learned of our caravan's involvement in the mooncrash that ravaged the area 10 years prior. 🕊️

Next step: repair a machine queen, reintroduce the megasloth in its natural habitat, resurrect the Blue God. 🌠

The angling minigame works wonders, the players love it 🎣.

Today was session 83 of our #UVG campaign. The caravan came up with a plan to save the solar system involving painful head grafting, resurrecting a dead black hole, impersonating envoys from the biomechanical tumor space station, gathering the 12 witches that brought magic to the world, stealing a city-worth of soul energy, sowing dissent in a communist city-state, and escorting a megasloth back to its natural habitat.

This week in the Ultraviolet Grasslands, the party got their son killed. They’d raised Treeroy together. This time, they encouraged him to experiment with the weird cairn they found. Something he tried got him blasted with a lance of fire. Mercifully, after dying, he got better, but it was close! #ttrpg #uvg

I *love* buried treasure, and I *love* that it was legitimately the right option for the party in this situation. #ttrpg #uvg

This week in Ultraviolet Grasslands, the party befriended both a semi-intelligent talking Tamagotchi and a semi-intelligent talking door. They gave the Tamagotchi as a gift to the door, and the two began an LLM-like conversation that will presumably last for eternity. #ttrpg #uvg

I finally ran my first (solo) test combat for the little #OSR system I've been working on (to use for my upcoming #UVG campaign as well as test celestial dice and mandatory multiclassing), and it seems to run okay!

The four sample players were able to defeat six skeletons, although they took pretty heavy damage and had to burn spells, although I'm not sure how much I like using celestial dice for damage instead of just having a separate damage roll.

We'll see!

Just finished reading through the free player guide for Ultraviolet Grasslands.

The setting is absolutely wild. It's post apocalyptic, but rather than grim and dark it's blindingly light.

I love the caravan driven survival mechanics! It's the first time I've seen this in a ttrpg. I may have to borrow this for a game at some point

For those who have run/intend to run #UVG, what system would you run it in? I usually find myself on the heavier side of the #OSR/#NSR with stuff like Worlds Without Number or my own game, but that just doesn’t seem right for UVG. I’m planning for an in person game hopefully in the new year, and I’ve had some family ask about Christmas gifts, so thinking about asking for a physical copy of a light NSR game to use for this

@enfors I have a long-running #UVG campaign about a merchant caravan following a science-fantasy tinted silk road, buying rare goods and selling them at a margin after months of travel, for profit.
It's not exclusively focused on trade, however. We also have a hefty dose of exploration, because finding relics in old futuretech ruins if often more profitable (and entertaining) than paying someone else to do that for you.

My interests in #numenera #cyphersystem #ultraviolentgrasslands #UVG #ElectricBastion and #traveller were both because I'm interested in the development of fictional worlds the more bizarro, weird and left open for expansion. But I also enjoyed Uresia, Unknown Armies, Over the Edge and even grim dark like Warhammer Fantasy.

11. Hex-Crawl - A few! Two that stand out are the intro Mausritter campaign I ran for friends in the Earldom of Ek + Vitacernis tree. And (if we stretch the question) a Point-Crawl in the Ultraviolet Grasslands by @Wizardthieffighter. That really shone for how *surreal* the locations we rolled to visit became. I’d never negotiated as a dryland coral hivemind in a cathedral cavern for the souls of elderly villagers before, but #UVG had me doing it. 🤘
