They violently targeted Chinese Viet citizens, including my family, at that time. My Grandpa had been working on rebuilding the incense factory in Cholon at the time. He was held up, at gunpoint by Viet Communist cops & beaten up - even after giving them all the cash he had (June 1978). The same kinda thugs targeted my Dad, a leading university human rights activist at the time - beating him up & imprisoning him. When Grandpa & Dad were released, Grandpa started to plot our escape from Vietnam. Grandpa said, if we stay now - They'll kill all of us because we are Teochew & we won't stop being Teochew. We are leaving for freedom from endless wars!
