Don’t forget, #US federal workers have families and mortgages and kids and pets. Many are US veterans.

They are the cogs in the wheels of government— often nameless and faceless… not out for recognition. They just get their jobs done to provide services for people in America.

They are non-partisan and work through any presidential administration, regardless of the president’s politics.

  5. “‘Even if the shutdown is lifted today, we still have the same concerns tomorrow because it’s going to be the same rhetoric & emails,’ says a Veterans Affairs employee who is still working with pay and who, like all the workers interviewed for this story, was granted anonymity to speak freely. ‘For the last nine months, it’s been like psychological warfare.’”

  10. Angry about the #USGovernmentShutdown

Per #NYTimes, "The Democratic plan, which ties a short-term government funding bill to extending expiring health care subsidies and restoring Medicaid cuts enacted over the summer as part of President Trump’s marquee tax cut and domestic policy law, failed on a 47-53 vote"

The GOP needs Dem votes, but won't compromise with their extreme budget and they won't support the Dems' compromise bill.

It's the #GOP playing hardball and responsible for the shutdown
