  1. @jwildeboer

Nope. It's definitely the age of the drinker. Don't break my canteen time child games

  2. Kinda #UselessTrivia, but I thought you might like it.

At the bottom of every #Duralex (legendary French brand) glass, you can find a number. This number has been the cause of many a discussion. Is it a code? How high does it go? But I can tell you what it means. It’s the number of the mould used to produce the glass. So this glass was produced using mould #1. depending on the series and production needs, there are up to 50 or more moulds per glass model. Now you know :)

  3. Quiz night tonight! Kick off at 7.30pm. Bring your friends, form a separate team, taunt them with arancini and beat them to the bar voucher prizes. #smugmode

  5. THE GREATEST NECESSITY OF THE AGE – THE HISTORY OF TOILET PAPER?

Have you ever wondered why it's customary to shake hands with the right hand? Humans have not always enjoyed the luxury of 4 ply cloud soft cushion. The finest man in toilet paper security (Mr Whipple) knows this, and that's exactly why he implored: "PLEASE, DON'T SQUEEZE THE CHARMIN!".

Aside from the left-hand, some of the first tools used for "throne" hygiene, are listed below. Just a submission from the archives of #UselessTrivia that clutters my mind. Someone said "useless trivia" was the hashtag game today. Maybe they were stoned.

Thousands of years ago, Hygiene sticks, known as salaka, cechou and chugi were used. Many were basically a sponge on a stick.
For the longest time, the Sears catalog was a favorite, as well as another publication. Have you ever wondered why the "Farmers Almanac" has a punch-hole in the top corner? This was the reason. The hole was "punched" so the magazine could be hung on a hook in the outhouse. Not kidding. Later, something called Apothecary paper was marketed but, people began to use this invention as stationary because of the quality of the paper. This paved the way for the more modern version of toidy tissue textiles.

    Touted as:
"The Greatest Necessity of the Age", in 1857, Joseph Gayetty introduced:

"GAYETTY'S MEDICATED PAPER FOR THE WATER CLOSET"

The image and article below tells the rest. Considering the other options, can you think of any better invention? Given a choice between toilet paper and the internet... my clean behind and I, would miss all of you very much.

  7. Also learned while updating this post: Boston's NBC affiliate technically has a low-powered TV station license, despite broadcasting at full power? And NBC also owns a station in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but NBC there is on a digital subchannel vs the main .1 channel, Telemundo...

  8. For the two people wondering: Booster Gold = a DC superhero. He's a guy from the 25th century who came to our time to become a superhero. His personality's something of a glory hound, and often engaged in money-making schemes (product endorsements, etc.). His companion's a hovering robot sidekick named Skeets. (Booster/Skeets created in 1986, well before the modern internet.)

  9. A tune you don’t hear much unless it’s 1968, you actually HAVE it in your music library or you catch Quentin Tarentino’s “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.” I was actually unaware until recently there’s a connection of sorts to AC/DC; the song was co-written by Malcolm and Angus Young’s older brother, George for Los Bravos.

  10. The host mentioned Saturday morning cartoons of the day included "mystery solving canines" and "superheroes." Scooby-Doo moved to ABC (from its original home, CBS) a few years after "Schoolhouse Rock" started airing, and stayed on ABC for the rest of its run on broadcast network TV.

  11. I used hashtags on #birdsite but not as a means to connect with others. I think the idea here is to use 5-7 hashtags to describe your interests or somehow helps tour profile. Let's give it a try.
