They couldn't just tell the boss "this isn't really worth the inputs"? Could this be how we reach sustainability? The problem they think a #moneyPump will solve this but all that does is increase #inequality. Thus likely to have the reverse effect?

Precisely, people will pay taxes for things that they see value in, yes. Things that are palatable. People will take a active role in what their government is spending their taxes on.Unlike today.
With never-ending streams of funds going to grifters for often #uselessJobs, or jobs that would be #volunteer. There should be a #UBI, and a govt that manages #naturalMonopolies, preventing other monopolies from forming, and have protections for environment, health and safety.

Keynesianism is very efficient at producing #uselessJobs.
People in uselessJobs are a bigger drain on #society than the #unemployed, who often add to the #informalEconomy or #volunteer for a fraction of the income of the person undertaking the uselessJob.
The person performing the uselessJob is often paid very well to enable them to travel vast dististances and engage in activities to help them manage the pain of knowing they don't have a real job.
