Took a risk and it bit me in the ass. I bought a used laptop from the German Zoll Auktion. I've done this before and it worked, but this time I got one with a password protected bios, that they forgot to reset. I was able to install Linux on it but if anyone knows how to fully reset an HP ProBook 650 g1 that would be useful.
Unplugging the CMOS battery didn't help, and my OS is reporting problems with the TPM. Should I just stop trying?

Learn the best way to handle it: 1) Sell it quickly for maximum return (especially if it's under 5 years old), 2) Donate it to extend its life, 3) Repurpose it as a Linux server, or 4) Recycle it responsibly. Remember: Always perform a secure data wipe before letting it go!
