It's interesting how so many small accounts are so diligent about #AltText and how some large accounts seem to care so little. If you have a large following, be a good example. It's not hard. There is OCR available if you're posting screenshots.

I also encourage everyone to read the alt-text. You may be surprised to find out how much more context you get. Some users really go hard.

Among other things, the Graze extension displays ALT text as a caption under images. I only boost posts with Alt text, and sometimes like to copy/paste Alt text when sharing a post, so this extension makes things easier for me even though I don't require Alt text to access content myself.

You claim to be concerned about chronic illness and #disability due to #COVID and yet you refuse to even try to add #AltText to your news screenshots (even after I showed you how easy it was multiple times).

#AltText helps people with lower eyesight ie people living with disabilities.

It's not very difficult to add #AltText to images, especially for those with large slabs of printed text. It's simply respectful and inclusive to do so.

A few months back I received an email asking me if I wanted to submit specific alt text to describe a picture that was used in an interview.

This was the first time I’ve ever been asked about alt text for content. I loved it!

Alt text is super important, for loads of different reasons.

Some of you awesome Tooters have shared great pictures! And I would love to boost them! But...

I'm a silly Pixy that likes images and videos to have an Alt text. Not just "screenshot from game X" or "sunset", but a but more information would be nice. I don't always see the alt texts, so sometimes I do boost when I see some Alt is included. But no Alt text means no boost, sorry!

Some dear friends depend on screen readers. And I don't want to exclude them in the toots I share. So if I liked your image but didn't boost and you didn't have any Alt text... That could be a reason. Or maybe I just liked it. 😇

And I sorry to my screen reading friends if I missed the alt text and boosted something with an alt text that didn't make sense. Sometimes I don't have the spoons and I'll just boost when I see the image in my app that means "alt text provided". I'm trying to be inclusive but yeah, sometimes I fail. Sorry!
