  1. Well, ordinary peaceful US-Americans are now being arrested for disagreeing with our corrupt and idiotic government.

I've been predicting this since 2015.

They're gonna come for me eventually, I assume.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ I boosted this because it is a very good explainer about what is happening to #science funding in the US federal govt under #DOGE and its aftermath. I did not know how grant funding worked until #Trump 2.0. It was a black box even to people whose livelihoods depended on it.

But I disagree that we want to go back to the way things were. OMB had too much power. The US executive branch - controlled by the president - should not decide. Under the #USConstitution, #Congress as the reps of the people should have the power of the purse strings. I hope #WeThePeople can convince them to reclaim their power.

  7. Prima Donna Trump: Iran is Not Invading the United States; Iran is Incapable of Invading the United States.

    by Jerry Alatalo | June 1, 2026

Prima donna is often used pejoratively to describe a person who is demanding, temperamental, and expects special treatment, typically someone who finds it difficult to work as part of a team.

    Definition of Prima Donna

The term “prima donna” originally referred to the leading female singer in an opera company, derived from Italian meaning “first lady.” However, its contemporary usage has evolved to carry a negative connotation.

    Pejorative Meaning

    Characteristics

    • Demanding: A prima donna often expects special treatment and can be difficult to please.
    • Temperamental: They may exhibit mood swings and can be easily upset.
    • Teamwork Issues: Typically, a prima donna struggles to work collaboratively with others.

    Usage Context

The term is frequently applied to individuals in various fields, especially in the arts, where it describes someone who behaves in a demanding manner, revealing an inflated sense of self-importance. This behavior can lead to conflicts in team settings, as prima donnas may prioritize their own needs over group dynamics.

In summary, while “prima donna” has its roots in opera, it is now commonly used to describe individuals who are self-centered and difficult to work with, often leading to a negative perception in both professional and social contexts.

    Cambridge Dictionary:

Someone who thinks that they are very good at what they do, and demands a lot of attention and praise from other people.

    Merriam – Webster:

A vain or undisciplined person who finds it difficult to work under direction or as part of a team.

Examples: *The actress is a temperamental prima donna. *We are looking for team players, not prima donnas.

    Urban Dictionary:

A strongly temperamental person who presents him or herself as moody or irritable and expresses erratic / unpredictable behavior that is not accepted well by the general public.

A person who is vain and consider themselves too good to do certain tasks and live under conditions they consider inadequate.

Someone who thinks that they are very good at what they do, and demands a lot of attention and praise from other people.

    Free Dictionary:

prima donna: A vain and tempermental person, disagreeable person, unpleasant person … A temperamental, conceited person.

    Vocabulary.com:

A prima donna is a diva: someone who acts like they are the star of the show. If you tirelessly dominate the conversation and always interrupt when other people are talking, people will think you’re a prima donna.

    Collins:

A temperamental person; a person who takes adulation and privileged treatment as a right and reacts with petulance to criticism or inconvenience.

    Oxford:

A person who thinks they are very important because they are good at something, and who behaves badly when they do not get what they want.

    Wiktionary:

A person who considers themselves much more important than others, has high expectations of others and becomes angry when their demands are not met.

    Longman:

Someone who thinks that they are very good at what they do, and demands a lot of attention and praise from other people.

    Detailed Meaning of Prima-donna

“Prima donna” is a Italian phrase that translates to “first lady.” Historically, it was used to describe the leading female singer in an opera or a ballet company. The prima donna was the star of the show and had the most prominent role in the production. The term has also come to be used more broadly to refer to any highly accomplished and successful woman, particularly in a field dominated by men.

However, over time, the term developed a negative connotation, often being used to describe a woman who is demanding, temperamental and arrogant, and who behaves as if she is entitled to special treatment. It is often used to describe a person, usually a woman, who is excessively vain, temperamental, and demanding, and who expects to be treated as the center of attention.

The term is commonly used in show business such as opera and theater, but also in other fields such as politics, sports, and business.

World affairs observers George Galloway and Scott Ritter assert the #1 political prima donna on Earth (my description of Donald Trump), Donald Trump, is clinically insane.

“He’s suffering from a narcissistic personality disorder of the most malignant variety, says Scott Ritter. The cabinet and the vice-president need to come together to remove him from power under the constitution’s 25th Amendment.”

Another part of the U.S. Constitution is the #AppointmentsClause which states that Federal officers need Congressional approval, either directly by the Senate or via laws for that specific purposed passed by both houses and signed into law.

#Trump who has twice sworn to defend the #USConstitution has apparently never understood it to apply to him. And so... on 2025/11/24 #Halligan was found *not* to be the Interim U.S. Attorney for the District where she was placed by Trump and then-Attorney General #PamBondi. She didn't take the hint.

2025/12/02 United States v. Jefferson (3:25-cr-00160) Unlike others I have selected, this is a criminal case. But when Trump couldn't get serious lawyers to prosecute his political enemies, he turned to incompetent ones without anything like legal appointments. On 2026/01/20 this Judge told her to GTFO. courtlistener.com/docket/71984

    > This matter comes before the Court on the United States of America's (the "Government") Response to the Court's January 6, 2026 Order (ECF No. 22 ("Response")), which was submitted to the Court and signed by Ms. Lindsey Halligan on January 13, 2026. Ms. Halligan's filing comes in response to an Order directing her to file a pleading explaining the basis for her continued identification of herself as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia in the face of United States District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie's binding Court Orders, issued on November 24, 2025, that found Ms. Halligan's appointment as Interim U.S. Attorney unlawful under both 28 U.S.C. § 546 and the Appointments Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
