Today's photo is from a trip to Svalbard in the Arctic.
I'm not sure if the captain saw the bear first or the bear spotted us but in any case we closed the distance between us and then the ship came to a stop and the bear kept coming, eventually standing under the bow looking up. Having discovered that we weren't to be lunch it strolled away again across the ice.
