Grateful for the support of United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) during #BladderCancerAwarenessMonth and ALWAYS! Also grateful for their support of the new Tigerlily Foundation #BladderCancer Awareness Campaign. Great quality time with the girls and phenomenal start to my #surgiversary, #stomaversary, #remissionversary & #bariversary week.
Tomorrow, the 23rd, is 8 years since I had my life-saving #RadicalCystectomy with #RadicalHysterectomy to remove my #BladderCancer (including a grapefruit-sized primary tumor that had grown through my bladder wall and was attaching to my cervix), placed my #Stoma for my #urostomy and left me with #NoEvidenceOfDisease.

I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD.
Simple as that. Yesterday was my 7th #stomaversary/#remissionversaray.
On September 23, 2016 is when I had my life-saving procedure that even my urology oncology surgeon & medical oncologist didn't think I was going to survive, let alone be #cancerfree on the other side of things.
I had my bladder, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, pelvic lymph nodes & part of my cervix removed and my #stoma placed for a #urostomy. -
