I can't stress enough how important it is to close the nutrient cycle and utilize human excrements as fertilizers. We would save so much resources and energy while decreasing the environmental impact of our horribly expensive and inefficient sewage system and fertilizer production.
Yes, there are challenges when using human excrements (mainly pathogens and pharmaceutics), but the hazards are mostly much lower than people think, and solvable.

@haraldgeyer Quick update from our #SustainableFarming work: we applied about 1000ml of #urinefertilizer to drying #tomatoes, hoping to revive them—but sadly they dried up completely. Likely #fertilizerburn from too much at once. Lesson learned! We'll try smaller doses + more water next time. Farming teaches us through each mistake. 🌱 #EcoAgriculture #SoilHealth #LearningByDoing

Would be amazing not to depend on mineral fertilizers, though. Might have to start a research project about the possibilities of using human urine for hydroponics (urine contains almost no pathogens, but 60-70% of the nutrients you excrete) -> closing the cycle
