One of the trash pandas that lives on the block has been ravaging our garbage cans and does not seem to be particulary afraid of humans. Today, he found a container of well expired pine nuts and had a bit of a feast.

The Donaufeld cornfields in Donaufeld, Vienna - amazing to see this in a city, an oasis of biodiversity surrounded by residential development. Swallows were hawking for insects above the fields, blue carpenter bees droning in the poppies and large copper butterflies spiralling around each other in the flower-rich field margins

Before the #Somerville community path extension from Cedar to Lowell, before Maxwell Green, there was this wonderful #UrbanWild tucked away in the middle of the city.
I like the bike path, but this was a special place as well. There was some trash and debris, but it was a quiet place for humans and other animals to take refuge from the city. I miss it.
