I harvested some #Rowan berries from the neighbor's bush, and one thing I was not expecting was how spicy they would smell when cooked. Personally, I think it smells like a pot of chili with cumin, though this article gets into greater details about the component parts of the fragrance.

Wild sour cherry pie

• Simple flour butter crumble topping
• Oat and applesauce crust (not visible)

The sour cherries and crabapples were picked from trees within our general area (crabapples were from last year)

Half foraged, half store bought, homemade pie :)

Taste is... OK. Mildly tart/bitter despite addition of sugars, but the crust is the real winner here.
