  1. From the Family #Rosaceae is this vibrant fruiting tree. These are eveywhere and displaying red, in abundance throughout our city at the moment.

These are native to the Himalayas.

This one however, is growing in the front yard of an #ormond home, #melbourne, #Australia.

It’s been raining this morning so the fruit and green leaves are shining in the sun, that has just punched through the clouds.

The red fruits (called pomes) appear in autumn, and hang about well into winter if not eaten by the hungry birds.

Wonder what they taste like? 🤔

Tho I’m not that game 😅

  2. I’m not even going to try to identity this one, as the ID app provided around a dozen possibilities.

But the common theme is that it’s likely to be from the #Rosaceae (#rose) family. (EDIT; appears plenty of advice that this is likely a #Hawthorn of some sort 🤔, perhaps. Thanks for the comments 👏👍).

The fruit on this is the size of the smallest blueberry you sometimes get in a punnet. Cute-as!

  3. The trusty ID app tells me this is a #CotinusCoggygria, the European smoketree, Eurasian smoketree, smoke tree, smoke bush, Venetian sumach, or dyer's sumach… so many names!!

    It’s from the family Anacardiaceae.

This unique tree is native to a large area from southern Europe, east across central Asia and the Himalayas to northern China.

And yes, those hair-like structures are giving, but somehow coarse and sturdy at the same time. Haha. That’s the only way I can explain it.

Perhaps what I think, a tumble weed would feel like 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔

Anyways, the diversity of flora in our world is just astounding, don’t you think?

  4. These are #rainboweucalyptus!

    Aka #Eucalyptusdeglupta or Rainbow Gums.

    These #gums are SO unique.

No… kids haven’t been defacing these gums with crayons or fluro-pens.

Their vibrant colours are all natural.

Ive featured these gorgeous #gums before, but have found a number of new pics to share… 👇

These are fair-dinkum real. And they’re absolutely stunning!!

🧐 Known facts about the #rainbowgum:

    - When a rainbow eucalyptus sheds its bark it reveals a neon green inner layer. Over time, as this layer is exposed to air, it ages into different colors. They display bright reds, oranges, blues, pinks and purples.

    - The different colours appear as different layers fall off, while other exposed areas begin aging.

    - Rainbow eucalyptus is the ONLY eucalyptus tree native to the #northernhemisphere.

    - They’re found mainly in the Philippines, New Guinea, and Indonesia.

  5. #Euphorbiamilii, the crown of thorns, Christ plant, or Christ thorn, is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family Euphorbiaceae, native to Madagascar.

The oranges here on this one are vibrant and abundant. It is commonly used as an ornamental houseplant that is best grown in warmer climates.

This beauty was snapped at night following a warm day. It held up well despite the sweltering conditions endured throughout this day. Although pic 3 indicates it could do with a drink.

  6. This is #sealavender. It’s just gorgeous!

I love the two coloured flowers of this plant. is a Mediterranean plant species in the family #Plumbaginaceae known for its papery flowers that can be used in dried arrangements.

These were firm to the touch, but giving. I’ve only seen them dried bar one time earlier in this season!
