Camilo José Vergara, Chilean-born, New York based photographer creates Timeline Photo Series that reflect the changing environment of poorer segregated urban areas in America. These photos are of 65 East 125th St, Harlem from 1977 to 2016.

The blocked toilet problem was caused by roots in the drain.
We all love flowers and trees. How can we have them in a packed urban environment without causing problems in the plumbing? I hear solutions such as, 'don't plant things near drains', but tree roots can go a long way. In some places there is no space to grow anything that is far from drains.
