A white wooden cross marking the place where a tree once stood.
A small boy walking by himself, stopping occasionally, frowning, lips moving, glancing about, deep in his own story-game.
My own shadow on the shadow of a bridge.
Three seeing-eye dogs on the beach. Off leash but still on duty, each keeping a close eye on their person.

Things I saw #today:
The sun glowing through the traffic cone that's placed in front of a permanently-open-because-of-loadshedding gate.
A electric fence sign with all parts of the sign except for the lettering eroded away by the sun. It's on a wall with no electric fence, but lots of spikes.
A man in Lavender Hills (poverty stricken neighborhood) watering a tiny garden surrounded by weeds and rubble.
A pair of bright pink sandals balanced on a ledge outside of a fifth floor bathroom window.

I often think about what we could do to make our cities more hospitable to non-human life, and how much resistance there would be to it.
