@mart_brooks @postcrossing the #UniversalPostalUnion (#UPU) is that body, but AFAIK there's no requirement for stamps (or anything else for that matter) to be in French.

That's also part of the obfuscation #DeutschePost did after acquiring #DHL. In #Germany, DHL has become the classic postal union #UPU parcel service like #usps priority Express, priority or first class package. What is known as "DHL" in countries outside Germany is named "DHL Express" in Germany.
So now you get notices "Shipped with DHL" but the tracking number is UPU. So dhl.com doesn't know the number but USPS does.
