World Forestry Day / International Day of Forests – 21 March

India’s first woman teacher and a pioneer of women’s education.
In 1848, Savitribai Phule and Jyotiba Phule started India’s first girls’ school at Bhide Wada, Pune, challenging caste and gender barriers.
