The cheery numbers the @forestservice has been selling for durable wood products never did add up. The figure still underestimates the release of #carbon by #logging. For example what about the helicopter fuel when they do helicopter #clearcuts like in the #UpperCheatRiver #WV

Thanks to the article linked by @AnthonyPWalker at https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ac8694 we see that the Central #Appalachians are a hotspot of above-ground #carbon storage worldwide. Why is the @forestservice attacking our #ClimateForests with projects like the #UpperCheatRiver #clearcuts?
